İlbak Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. became a partner of Asya Maden İşletmeleri A.Ş. operating in Kastamonu province in 2011, it continues its operations as Acacia Maden İşletmeleri A.Ş. as a result of partnership with Akfen Mühendislik A.Ş. as of 2016. Acacia Mining produces enriched copper concentrate.Acacia Mining Operations operates with the partnership of İlbak Holding, Akfen Holding and İzbir companies and produces enriched copper concentrate.

Acacia Maden İşletmeleri A.Ş works at international standards with its expert staff. It constantly updates its infrastructure in line with the goal of using the natural resources of our country in the most accurate way, and develops its reserves in accordance with the JORC standard with an environmentally friendly sustainable mining approach. In addition, it continues its mining activities in accordance with national legislation and IFC / World Bank standards.

Under the activities of project development in conformity with international standards which started in 2007, 86.000 meters were drilled and 12.000 samples were analyzed and evaluated. Investment decision was made in 2017. Approximately 24 million tons of 1.5% grade copper ore were discovered at Gökırmak Copper Mine. Approximately 120 thousand tons of copper concentrate containing 22% copper will be generated per annum from open pit for 12 years.
 

Contribution of Acacia Mining to the Turkish Economy

Acacia Mining Operations aims to make a substantial contribution to the Turkish economy by reducing external dependency on copper consumption.

Acacia Mining achieved its export target for the year 2022 according to the TIM 2022 report.

Acacia’s ranking among mine export companies in Turkey:

• 1st place among all copper export companies
• 4th place among all mine export companies

Acacia Mining Operations was ranked 132th among the top 1000 companies by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) with the exports it reached in 2022.

Since the day it started production, Acacia Mining has processed more than 6.7 million tons of ore and produced 393 thousand tons of copper concentrate. The Company has produced over 130 thousand tons of copper concentrate in 2022, exceeding its annual average concentrate production target.

It aims to increase its production by a minimum of 20% with the capacity increase investment which is to be completed in 2023*.
